My headlights are coating with it as well, and hopefully that will keep them from yellowing. Since they still had the factory UV treatment, I think it will be fine. There is a special Opti-Coat for headlights with UV treatment built in, which would be good for lenses you had to polish, which would could remove the factory coating:

But yea, Opti-Coat is great for a daily driver you want to keep protected and looking good with minimal maintenance. I have yet to do anything to it other them basic handwashes, and it looks great still after 7 months and 10k miles!

Contrary to what [MENTION=46466]THEROK[/MENTION] says, it still beads well, and better then any product would 7 months after application:



There is some paint contamination and water spots though, so once the weather gets a little better, a light clay will take care of the contaminants, and either a spray wax or light finishing polish should take care of the water spots. Not bad for maintaining a new finish that still looks like and reacts like it did when it was just applied!

Not only is the whole clay/polish/wax process a couple times a year a huge PITA, but ultimately you are removing a little your factory clear every time you polish. And today's clears are thin and weak. Polishing Opti-Coat is just polishing a coating that can be easily re-applied if you end up polishing through it.

Wow, thanks!! I almost bought some the other day. Didn't know there was a special product for headlight lenses!

Yeah, claying/polishing/waxing a couple of times per year is a hassle. I'm OCD with my cars, but I just don't have the time anymore. At most, I have 1 maybe 2 hours I can take out of my day to do a "quickie" wash with my rig.

THEROK said his peace (more than a few times). The only argument I agree with him (about people who often wash/wax then this might not be worth it), but this product seems worth it for me. My 4R is white (non-clear coat), so this could be huge. I do notice my paint shiny, but it's doesn't have that "deep gloss" look. I think my paint is slightly faded. May have to look at Carpro IronX treatment.

Here in hawaii ceramic coating is going for 1000-2000 to start it's crazy $$$.
