Probably not, the body is significantly different than the 4th gen, while the frame is roughly the same; the running boards mount to the body.

Found a set on local CL, hoping they would fit. Surfing net for info but no luck. I might give it a shot; worse that can happen is it won't work

Confirmed today that the OE running board mounting points are exactly the same design and spaced exactly the same between 4th and 5th Gens.

I installed Go Rhino 67427T oval side steps from a 5th Gen onto a 4th Gen (technically a 120 series GX470, but same difference). They fit perfectly. The steps sit fairly high on my truck, but I think these particular steps are designed to be that way even on the 5th gen.

I’m thoroughly shocked they fit. Thanks for sharing! This opens up more options.

They're the exact same ones you have pictured.

Running boards transfer question

Did this work for you? I have a 2005 (4th generation) and would like to transfer the running boards to a 2020 (5th generation). I'm particularly interested in whether the light accents on the 4th generation running boards work when hooked up on a 5th generation. Thanks for any input you might have.

No, it didn't work. The holes lines up but the boards were too long and we're hitting the black fender piece...no idea what it's actually called.

Are the mounting brackets the same between 4th and 5th Gen sr5/te running boards?

They seemed to be, yes. But because the old running boards were hitting the front wheel fender I could actually get them to touch the bottom of the 4 runner. I could just eye it and it seemed if the fender wasn't in the way, the holes would have lined up.

I guess, it' your preference. I got these and like them

Running Board | TRD PRO | OFF ROAD | TRAIL EDITION PT938-89200 | Frontier Toyota

I didn't pay that much though. Some how I got them from Toyota for about $190. I forgot how I did it.
