I'm not sure I could handle the drama in a polite manner.

No, the past few days I have been cracking down on the noobs who cannot wait to ask the burning questions like "What size tires fit" and they are littering the forum with silly posts to get their 15 in. Geez.

Don't think it goes unnoticed, along with the 15 post whining.

This thread has been awesome. Read most of it.

Only question (hopefully I didn't read over this): what do the Premiums add that the base doesn't have?

Specifically, I have a 2010 SR5-P and it has a LOT of features I was surprised about.

If you go to Toyota's website (Customize Your Own Car, Truck, SUV or Hybrid) and then click on the "VIEW DETAILS" for any of the models, it will list the different features. Basically, the premium gives you a moonroof, SofTex heated seats, Entune Premium, turn signal indicator on outside mirrors, and auto-dimming rearview mirror.

currently shopping 4runners and the Premium adds the two features I really need: 3rd row seat and Softex options

I don't believe it is the "Premium" that adds 3rd row seats. I believe 3rd row seats are an available option on the SR5, SR5 Premium, and Limited models.

that graphic seems to indicate YES, but I can't find any:

can you get a Trail with Moonroof and KDSS?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but you cannot get a moonroof with the base Trail model. You'd have to upgrade to the Trail Premium.

KDSS is available on both the Trail and Trail Premium, but can be difficult to find or source depending on region.

You are absolutely correct on all counts. (And I am driving a 2016 TEP that has a moonroof and KDSS.) Note I found AutoTrader (New Cars, Used Cars - Find Cars for Sale and Reviews at Autotrader) to be a great resource in finding the exact vehicle I wanted (since I specifically wanted a MGM TEP w/KDSS). Otherwise you might have to work with a local dealer to have one built for you, or have them locate one and do a dealer swap.

Another base model upgrade not included in the graphic above is the Homelink overhead buttons.

I went back and forth on SR5 Base vs SR5 Premium and ultimately landed on the SR5 Base trim. The difference to me was the moonroof. I've never really used one, and my family has had enough long-term issues with leaks in other cars that I almost prefer not having one. The overall difference in MSRP was about $2,500, so I ended up getting the Entune upgrade ($500), auto-dimming mirror with Homelink installed at the port ($300), and keeping the $1,700 difference, which I'll likely use for Katzkin leather in the future ($1,300 locally). Then the only difference will be turn signal mirrors (meh) and a moonroof (which I don't care for anyway), at $400 less than the MSRP for the upgrade.

Anyone seen any good info for all the differences with the 2016 lineup? I feel like Toyotas website sucks for showing the small differences and I have yet to find any good comparisons here or via a google search. I am looking for subtle differences like black interior dash vs silver and black on which models, all black "pleather" seats vs black and grey etc. Even finding exactly what you can get KDSS on or a sunroof on seems to be difficult via the toyota website.

Thanks!

Hi all,

I am currently shopping for a 4Runner trying to decide between Trail Premium and Limited. I tried Limited and acceleration was just awful - I floored the pedal but the car looked very hesitant to even respond. Currently I own the Pathfinder 2015 4wd. And my Pathfinder is much quicker to accelerate than the 4Runner. However, I checked the specs and it says that the 4Runner 2016 and my PF both have almost same time 0-60MPH: 7.7 vs 7.4s. So I would assume they should accelerate very similar. When I tried the 4R it felt like something was holding it or like its engine was gas starving.
I hope something was simply wrong with that particular 4Runner. What else could it be? Did anyone else experience same issues?
And the thing is - that PFs (they have CVT) are not that fast themself, but, compared to the 4Runner, I could feel a huge difference.
Any comments would be really appreciated since I sit on a fence now.
