it doesnt matter what you do you will never stop the dog hair. Ask yourself how comfortable can it be to be stuck in a crate that really isn't the proper size for a dog that big but then cutting that size to fit three dogs. usually 50 plus require a cage larger then what will fit in your truck
Two choices don't take the dogs if your are worried about hair or your brand new car (kids are not different the dogs they make a mess) or go buy a shop vac and call it a day.

The call goes out to rescues, dog clubs, and pet finding organizations to help "find" this persons dog.
Accidents can be traumatizing to animals. If you are broadsided or rear ended, chances are the impact could be significant with air bags deploying. Having large dogs, my own dogs would do one of two things....
1. As soon as someone opened a door to try to help me, they would bolt out of fear and be gone. They are hounds, so would not stick around, nor let anyone near them.
2. As soon as someone approached the vehicle, their protectiveness would kick in and prevent in first responders rendering help. This in turn would probably mean the dog's death via a shot to the head by police.
If I was a first responder or police officer and there was a dog snarling at me through the glass while I was attempting to help someone, I'd probably do the same thing. They are part of our family... but are still animals and can be unpredictable in a traumatic situation. IMO.... animals and kids should be buckled in/secured to keep themselves and others safe. A dog can be killed by the airbag.
I travel with my dogs more than without. They are crated in the cargo area or harnessed in the backseat. I love them and would be devastated if they bolted from my truck or were shot by law enforcement.
Just my 2 cents.

As a former first responder no the police would not be shooting the dog in the head. Shooting it yes but not in the head lets not put this view on the police as much as you may want to. As former EMS the fire department has the capacity to handle the situation and will without the help of the police. EMS and the FD have pretty of ways to restrain the dog or dogs with out issue just from the tools on the trucks. No reason the police should be poking their head in a car as they usually can't render the proper aid. And please stop making it look like the police wake up to go to work and shoot things. If your dogs are no vicious in case they escape the truck then there is no reason for the police or anyone else to put it down.

Regardless of whether the dog would be shot and by whom.... this is about the safety of the dog and the humans. The safest place is not loose in the vehicle period.

Hence why they have multiple other options. TBH the dogs are of least concern when in a accident.

Actually a 42" wire crate is recommended for dogs up to 90lbs. A 42" crate fits perfectly between the wheel wells, can be tied down with ratchet straps and the rear seats can still be utilized.

Or get a poodle! I think we humans shed more than she does.
And safety disclaimer, she has a ClickIt Sport harness that she wears that I had not yet put on when I took the photo. And her light weight disables the smart airbag in the front seat just like a small child or car seat would.

I used to have my dog in the back seat with a Kurgo hammock. She's a 50 lb mutt, and it worked pretty well with the dog hair. That's until the kids came, now she goes in the cargo area in a crate line with a memory foam dog bed. I find she's happier there, she actually gets more space to herself and I can load the cargo area around her without fear of the stuff falling on her. I also just reverse the Kurgo hammock and let it fall behind the second row seats and secure it under the all weather mat, which keeps most drool and hair off of the upholstery. If you go the crate route as many have mentioned make sure you tie it down/secure it. I also roll up a towel and put it at the base of the crate to roll out (like the red carpet) so her claws don't do a number on the bumper plastic every time she hops in and out.
Lastly the dog window/rear door covers are awesome if you have a dog in the back seat. I still have them up, even though the dog is in the cargo area to protect the doors from the kids (and make it more difficult for them to play with the door handle and window button.
Pic I've used a bunch recently but shows the dog crate setup.

What size ruff tough is that? My pup is coming in a week and want to get him a ruff tough. Just trying to see how the individual sizes fit in the 4 runner.

Yep - My poodle is welcome anywhere in the truck she wants to go. She is still known to roll in the dirt when i take her to the barn, but at least she doesn't shed.

It's an intermediate double door crate. Fits perfectly against the back of the back seat. Here are two in there side by side.

Looks like a good fit in there. Only problem is right now the pup is 9 weeks so trying to guage his weight when he grows. Sire is 90lbs and dam is 75 lbs. so may go with the large Ruff Tough as i think the intermediate will be too small.

It was an extra cost but yes it covers the rear lift gate up to the window.

I use a moving blanket. My husky is just a puppy still so he isn't shading. Like the floor though. I have husky liners installed let's see if this will work out

What did you finally settle on? GREAT thread, this was what I was looking for. I have also been contemplating cutting up a midwest wire crate to fit it to size.
