Best headlight bulb? LED or HID?

Hey guys,

Been doing some research and I wanted to know what some of you guys use and would suggest using?

I hear different things about LED as this would be my first option since there are less wires involved, less heat, and less maintenance. I do hear that LED's are good for foglights and just not there yet as in brightness compared to HID's.

I wanted to get the Philips LED originally but the output of brightness is nearly the same as stock from what some reviews say. I also saw a good review by someone on the forums on YouTube that Razir's led are good as well. Amazon has good reviews and high lumens for the SNGL LED kit.

My next option was to do TRS elite HID and combo it with the TRS HB direct replacement LED foglights assembly like someone else did in this forum.

I just want to know if we're still not there yet on LED for headlights and I should still stick with HID's. But if you had a good experience on a certain LED, please do share.

Thanks

I went with the XenonDepot 4300k Phillips HID kit and LOVE it. Highly recommended.

Diode dynamics is hands down the best... but I regret the HID in the low beam, the hot spot is just too much.

If you want to be able to see better than the stock halogens, stay away from LED. It may look brighter when looking at the vehicle and the foreground in front of the vehicle may be brighter, but LED do not offer safe distance lighting.
Vehicles that have LED headlights use entirely different technology and optics than a simple halogen-based bulb with LED's.

HID hands down. Led's look bright but don't paint the road the way HID's do somehow it seem to be less visible.

Go with HIDS for headlights and LED for everything else. DRL, Fog, etc. - 5000k color is nice and white.

You can get some Philips bulbs that perform quite well, I use the diamond vision 5000K for highs and lows.
https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Diamo...ond+vision+h11

Good visibility without blinding oncoming traffic and when I kick the highs on reflective street signs lite up waaay down the road. I can't see why you would need more light in normal driving conditions. The Philips LED fogs match very well also being 5000-5500K. All plug and play.

But if you really want to hook it up do the easy DRL disable so you can leave your headlights in auto, AND Antman's anytime fog mod. Buy doing both you get fogs that don't turn off when your high beams come on AND LED DRL FOGS.

Just sayin
