SSO High Clearance problems?

I did not have time today to take off the driver side wing. So I found a hard piece of plastic and placed it between the wing and body part that’s touching it. Test drove it and it seemed to stop it. So maybe I’ll grind some off the plastic body piece.

So maybe I installed it wrong? Does anybody have the wing and the plastic body piece touching?

The piece it’s touching is the part that front bumper snaps into.

i cut the bumper cover to where it overlaps the wings all along the cut, and makes contact with the wing all along the cut.

honestly, i haven't had mine long enough to see what happens if the frame/bumper flexes against the bumper cover and if it develops a noise. However, there is no wobble for the most part.

hope that helps.

Any way you could post a picture of your cuts? I have had mine on for a few months. This all just recently started.

So the wing doesnt wobble at all, and I have the bumper cover resting along the entire upper edge of the wing, putting pressure on the wing.

Thanks, man. Mine is the same way. I guess it’s just flexing and making noise on mine.

Well, I have to the end of trying to figure out my mess. Soon I’ll have my SSO clearance up for sale. The looks and clearance it gives is just not worth the noise. I’ll admit it only makes the noise going over bumps. It bothers me. I should have other items for sale also. Camburg UCA and Fox 2.0 coilovers. I ordered Total Chaos UCA and LCA. As well as King coilovers.

What was SSO's take on the issue? Did they have any ideas?

Are you selling the bumper too or just the high clearence part?

Why aren't people just trimming their bumpers for the same amount of clearance? These winglets have zero weight bearing capabilities so they offer no additional protection.

Thank you! I started a theead on this with little input from other forum members. All you need is a dremel and some $10 rubber door stripping from Amazon. The SSO for $330 says it offers you way more protection? What a joke...people are so quick to spend hard earned money hand over fist, instead of doing their own fabrication work.

^Every time I see the bumper cuts I want to go out to my driveway with the dremel and do it.

What did you do with the fender liner? Also, I would guess the mpg staying the same? Unless going like 80mph I wouldn't think the aerodynamic would really matter that much.

Just trim the liner along the same level where your fender cut finishes. I rattle canned the washer fluid tank as well so it doesn’t stand out. No issues with mpg!

This looks great, I like the less extreme angle of the cut. Can you post a pic of the entire front view if you get a chance? I'd like to see how it compares overall.

Some different shots...
