Got an oil change at the dealer and left . Now noticed oil is pouring out of the bottom. Called the dealer and they are going to pick it up. What are my next steps?

You can help.other owners by telling us which dealership so we can avoid it.
I do my own oil changes so I know it is done right.

Be the O-ring on the oil filter assembly isn't in the groove.

There are way too many posts about problems with oil changes on our 4Runners. Missing/broken skid plate bolts, leaks, drips after a change without a leak, wrong oil level etc. It's too difficult for the typical oil change rep.
I did mine yesterday, made a mess when the drain cover would not come out, but got it done, cleaned up and no leaks or problems.
Checked it before putting the skid plate back.

It's insanity.
Skid plate bolts are meant to be broken on the trail, not in the stealership.

This just happened to me 3 days ago for my first service. I attached the plate myself. They also left their dirty oil/dirt paw prints on the hood and top of grille. I called and let them have it, even though it's not like me to do that. They apologized and offered a free detail. No thanks, they'll probably eff up the paint!

Screwing up an oil change is pretty inexcusable, but this sort of thing can happen with any car..It just happens to be more complicated with the 4R because of the skid plates and our unique filtration system...Having said that, in this day and age with all the advanced training tools out there, there is no reason they couldn't teach a monkey to change the oil on one of these. Makes you wonder what if any training they're giving the people working at the dealerships
Same thing happened to me. Good thing I caught it right when I got home. Assumed it was just a small spill on the skidplate but there was oil all over the undercarriage. The oil level was good and the oil light wasnt on so I drove it back. The technician did not seat the filter o-ring correctly and I supposedly only lost a quart of oil (service manager says). They redid the oil job (not sure they prob just topped it off) and cleaned the undercarriage. I got a free cabin filter and some cleaning products since they did a half ass job on the detail.
This was at Toyota of Oxnard, CA. Will be trying Ventura Toyota for my next service.

This occurred at Toyota of Temecula. They are towing it back and said they will call me to let me know what the issue was. Are any of you who have had a similar issue worried about about damage to the engine?

could be cracked housing, bad o ring installation, not tighten housing properly, let us know what they say! Definitely a big bummer, hope you get it sorted out.

Kwik Kar effed mine up the Monday after Christmas. My next oil change I did myself and future oil changes will all be done by me. After I drained the oil, it wasn't even changed and the oil filter was leaking badly.
I just purchased a Fumoto valve so hopefully next oil change will be easier. The hardest part is making sure the seemingly oversized smaller o-ring on the oil filter cap fits nicely where it is supposed to go. I had to spend a couple of minutes pressing it in there until I got it right as it kept popping up. Hopefully it will be easier the second time.

I've never heard of that feature before now but what an incredible idea! IMO all cars should have that

I had a dealership put in all 7 quarts of my own supplied Toyota synthetic oil and called it a day. I had to let some oil out that night, didn't want to return it for the correction. I was dreading the oil change as well but now I don't have a choice for the next one.
