I had the front end torn down today and noticed under the plastic cover, each hole a push pin went into, the plastic had rubbed the paint down to the metal on the radiator cross bar.

Also pulled the battery and under the plastic tray was all worn down from vibration.

So, if you order a can of por-15 you now have:

- Under the rear spoiler
- under the front plastic over
- under the battery tray
- under the plastic door sill covers
- rear hatch, under lower weatherstripping, above the bumper

I also put some flocking tape down in all these locations to protect from future rubbing.

Do you have photos of these areas? Like where under the rear spoiler?

Which front plastic cover?

And where exactly on the hatch?
 
Some pictures would also help me too. I have made the plastic door sill covers with paint protection film underneath, and also know the problem at the tailgate which i will prevent: 5th Gen 4Runner Garnish Rust - YouTube

But i'm not sure what to do in the areas of weatherstripping, because fluid film should not be applied near rubber sealing. Any ideas what to do near or directly under the weatherstrippings?

if you need to get near weather stripping and don't want to have fluid film overspray just use a little brush and brush it on near the weather stripping. used fluid film inside the doors and on the pinch welds of the doors/hatch too
