at what lift height would you consider extended axle CVJ necessary?

Trying to find out if this will help reduce the angle I currently have. 60K miles on my 2016 runner and outer boots failed and joints making a lot of noise and vibration. Truck is lifted about three inches over stock. Looking at the extended offerings from CJV as an option but I would like to hear from someone who has done this and how it worked out. Thanks in advance

Diff drop is also an option to consider. I'd rather not mess with CV lengths or non-OEM components as much as possible

Extended CV axles will not do anything for angles. In fact, they will probably not even fit. The reason being, even with a lift the horizontal distance from the differential exit to the wheel hub has not changed all that much with a lift. Only the vertical distance has changed. Yes the overall distance from the differential exit to the wheel hub has increased a little , but not enough for longer axles to fit. Longer cv axles are only for long travel suspensions where the front wheels have been moved out horizontally (3"+) and lifted. The OEM shafts are simply two short for the increased horizontal and vertical distances between the differential exit and wheel hub.

The only way to reduce the angles as a result of a lift is to reduce the lift, lower the differential, or install a long travel kit with the same amount of lift.

I'd lower down to 2.5 inches to save yourself from the headaches.

That is what I thought re. the longer axle length... thank you for confirming it. Does this look like an extreme angle?

I'd say yes its not ideal.

Mine at 3". No diff drop. This is the most I personally would go.

Would a long travel suspension help this problem,or just a diff drop ?

It does seem excessive from pic. I will post what mine looks like with 3” lift (might be little more......long story...smh) plus diff drop for comparison in morning. I forgot to take pic tonight. Little curious what your boots look like when full steering lock is added into the the picture.

I would suggest installing a diff drop kit. Cheapest option and easy to install. It will help. Next cheapest option will be to reduce the lift....new springs And/or shocks as from your pic you achieved lift with springs and/or shocks. And even then could still consider diff drop kit.

Edit.....here is mine
