About 8 months ago, I had to go in and replace a rear seatbelt that my dog chewed through before the arrival of my son. It was somewhat involved as it required removing many of the interior panels. During the process I removed the weather seal at the bottom of the hatch opening and discovered some rust around the bottom lip/pinch weld. I assume that the moisture probably migrated from the top of the hatch opening in between the metal and weather seal.
Just wanted to check in and see if anyone experienced this and if you had any suggestions for a remedy. I'm open to any ideas, as I don't want to see where this would be 10 years down the road. My vehicle is a 2016 w/45k and has lived in TX, so no harsh road chemicals here really. I have not had any of the dreaded rear hatch rusting issues that some have experienced on the forum, however. Thanks for any help!
