You said the miss occurs whenever the AC is on...a failing AC compressor can cause a miss...anything the can cause the crank to slow down !!...PCM uses the crank sensor to detect misfires...I'd take it to diagnostic shop and let them scope the injectors and secondary ignition...may be even mechanical related !!...watch the first few minutes of the video !!...does it happen with the AC off ??

So dealer got back to me about my miss fire and so far it sounds like a spark plug got over torqued and cracked. They replaced it. Let see if that fixed it. Will report after I get the truck back.

It does it more often with AC on. but also when off. it posted a cyl #4 misfire P0304. but that has only happened once. I ordered 2 coils for #2 and #4 and 6 new plugs. it's running like shit right now. but has been good the past 2 weeks. I think an electrical connection gremlin somewhere?

well, the P0304 code has come up 2 more times. so I'm hoping the new coil and plugs will help. I also went to Advanced Auto and had them test the batt/alt. Battery is good, but alternator is questionable. only 13.0 volts when loaded. I verified this using my ODB reader and TORQUE app. only between 12.8 & 13.2 volts. so I'm going to bad an alternator too.

I had a similar problem with my Tundra a few years back. I chased it for a while until I figured out I had 2 coil packs bad. Swapping them around just confused things for a while.

I had a miss once that was hard to find in a chevy truck, I happen to pop the hood in the dark and found what was causing it..one of the plug wires had a small crack in the insulation and was throwing a spark about 2 inches in length to the block...couldn't see this during the daylight hours

well, plugs and 2 coils came in. I found the #4 plug had 2 cracks in it. I had the #2 plug crack last year. replaced all 6 plugs and the coils on #2 & #4. my truck is running much better. I believe the alternator issue is now a different problem, but because I get a 13.1 reading at the ECM I will replace it too. it just came in.
Thank for your help.
PS I asked NGK why the plugs would crack. the guy told me it's because I used a tool to install and they didnt go in straight. that would mean I cross threaded them, which I didnt. I used the socket and extension to turn the damn thing. any of you know why a spark plug would crack?

Did you torque to spec? I can't remember off the top of my head what it is, but I know there's a torque spec for the plugs. It's not that much if I recall.

It was probably cracked before it was installed, dropped on floor, quick look, it's ok (not!). I had one once that was driving me nuts and as I pulled a plug to look at it as I turned it electrode up I thought I saw something move, it was the insulator around the center electrode that was broken and when I would flip it over to install it the porcelin would slide down and rest against the side electrode and shield it from firing. Strange things can happen!

I've never had a plug crack in 25 years of working on my cars. I blame poor manufacturing... =P
