If you're born around 1980 (like me) and later then you're a millennial. I've owned several standard transmission vehicles and I'm ok with an automatic 4Runner...even one with a 4x4 knob rather than a lever like my 01 had. Let's not get hung up buttons vice levers. Toyota felt ok with a 200 series having knobs and switches rather than gear levers...

I do like the ellis precision shift levers. At some point I will likely get one for my 4Rnr.

Gen Z starting to rule the world now (born mid-90s-2001ish depending who you ask). I digress.
Personally I want to go back to a column shifter. 3 on the tree manual action. Bench seat up front.

How many of you had manual hubs on a vehicle in the past? My '96 Bronco had automatic hubs and they froze up in a snow storm in PA. Had to drive that thing in 2 wheel drive in a foot of snow to the local parts store, might as well have been the station wagon from Vacation. Switched them out to manuals in the parking lot in the snow. Good times. Oh, but it did have a pushbutton 4WD, no knob or lever! Loved that Bronco...

I would personally LOVE a stealth black Ellis Precision. But when i reached out to Joel, he said they were in the midst of a move and probably due to the covid 19 issues, I haven't seen them come back in stock for a while now.

I use the 2nd generation Taco TRD shift knob. Not really a good looking knob as much as it has the feel and shape of a normal shift knob vs what originally came with the truck.

The Ellis Precision are pretty expensive, but it's a one time buy lol. Love mine.

Wait.. this one?? It worked without any other modification? I was told it doesn't fit.

No wrap. That's how it comes from the factory. Not sure if it's a premium package thing or the TRD package.

I found 1 guy over in TacoWorld, but the last time he made one was about 4 years ago. How is it that no company makes an adapter so you can use an AR15 handle or 1911 grips on a shift knob!?

EDIT: I've emailed Ellis Precision, and they've started looking into it!

You sir have WAY more patience than I do. That boot was going to be a fight no matter what I tried. Stock boot reinstalled for now.
