OK, so first mod deviating from design. I had a spare rubberized cap for my Fumitomo valve, so I put it on the lock latch bolt to prevent metal to metal contact.
Other than that, all done except cleaning the nasty spare. I tapped into the 7pin on the running lights (green wire) and ground (yellow wire) to power the LED license plate lights. The tabs were PERFECT for making a nice, orderly routing with a nice finished look after the zip ties are trimmed.
It's 101F (feels like temp) with 55% humidity, I'm going to shower and relax a bit before getting ready for some offroad adventures tomorrow.

One other note for you guys, and an idea of the detail
@ ctnewman
applied to this project...
Don't worry about remembering which side is up on your camera, the port for it is cut so that it can only be inserted right side up.

OK, so we went out to play in Kisatchie NF today. Nothing loosened up, no noise, hardly any movement when going over obstacles (you had to be watching to even see it, you couldn't feel it). When we stopped for gas before heading home, I yanked and pulled in it and just about every direction and everything was tight.
The only issue I found was a squeak when opening it up to access the back, I probably need to grease it some more, but the amount of dust that was all over everything could choke a camel... so I expected something to make noise until I wash it off.

Great news. You may want to play with the preload on the pivot pin. I didn’t have anything to set it up by because I was building them on a pallet so I just guessed on nut preload. Also I didn’t jam the two nuts together really tight or use loctite on the jam but because I just assumed everyone would disassemble before installation. But I’m a little guy.
Was there not a rubber tip in the bag w the latches? I was assembling them at 1am so maybe I missed it. You can buy replacement rubber tips for those clamps from McMaster. I thought they came with them though.
If they weren’t in the bag and you feel strongly about it I will order some and and send you them! Let me know!

I'd planned to go through and check tightness on everything and grease it again after it getting a workout today. But no matter which way I tugged, pulled, pushed, lifted... nothing gave, shifted, nor complained (other than a lot of dust causing a small squeak).
Mine came with a plain bolt, no rubber, but no big deal. I've got it temp rigged until the rubber bumper style come in.
Right now, everything is filthy and I'm tired. We left at 7am and didn't get back until after 5pm. I'll put a closer eye on everything after it gets cleaned, but so far it's definitely stout enough to withstand the first round of abuse.

Finally found the time to install my
@ ctnewman
rear tire carrier!
It is everything ctnewman, stated it would be and then some. The install went without a hitch, well except the I have a camera continuity issue I need to nail down…
Edit: It wasn’t any connector or connections I made , but the OEM connector that the camera harness connects to.
Working at this point.
Hey Matt
@ SouthernSS
take a peek.

It’s okay man. I did call twice.
They told me it hasn’t been unload yet.
Online it says it’s on trailer. I’m hoping early next week. Or I’ll go unload that damn trailer myself

I'd just call them to find out what their hours are for pickup.
When I ordered my sliders, they were in the nearest larger city 3 days before they were scheduled to be delivered. I came in from offshore 2 days before delivery, called them on the drive home, and picked them up as I passed through.
Having learned my lesson, I asked that the carrier be held for pickup. They had some odd pickup hours, but again I picked it up on my first day home from work.

Finally got the call and picked it up today.
Now I’m starting a stretch of 5 night at work so it won’t get installed until late next week
It least it’s home and I get to stare and drool at the beautiful welds as I walk in the door.

I nailed down the continuity issue. It wasn’t a connection or connector I made, but seems to be an OEM connector that the camera harness plugs into.
Appears to be fixed for now.
I used Cat5E for my wiring and made up the connectors so I ended up with a minimum of splices.
Here are a couple of pics.

So I took a drive over to Southern Style Offroad today. Met Matt
@ SouthernSS
& a couple other guys that work for Kevin. They looked over the carrier and design. So now the ball is in their court to make some kind of decision and contact
@ ctnewman
to possibly work out any details if they choose.
I hope they see there is a desire for a really good carrier that many hasn’t had the opportunity to purchase and pick its design up.

Hell, you should've let me know you were going, I'd have driven over to meet up!
