FJ Cruiser Shift Knob mod

I installed a FJ Cruiser shift knob on my 4Runner. I hear that some cut the shifter down to get the fit just right. I just popped off the bottom instead of cutting the middle and it fits great. Look good too.

You have a 2014? What would you like for your stock shift knob?

The FJ one looks good! Matches the 4wd shifter perfect!

This is a good option and much faster and easier than my mod that keeps it looking factory.

Here is my FJ Shifter write up if you are interested.

Just so I am clear, you bought an OEM FJ shift knob and just took off the bottom piece to get it to fit your new TRD pro? Looks awesome in this pic because it matches the transfer case knob.

I have a new 2018 4runner TRD pro and want this exact setup but am not sure where to buy the knob.

Most of us that have done that mod just sourced a used one from Ebay or the classifieds here or on the FJ forum. I believe mine was $25 shipped.

Been searching eBay for a few months now and they are all hovering at around $50 shipped. Definitely will jump on one for $20-$30 as soon as I see one.

I just installed the FJ knob on my 2013 and it fit w/o any mods. Didn't even have to pop the bottom trim off. Anyone want the stock shifter knob for my '13 Trail? I saw it sell in an above post for $25. Seems reasonable to me; plus you pay shipping. Any takers?

Here's my method without trimming the shaft or needing to remove the bottom piece.

FJ Cruiser shift knob - No cutting or trimming!
