are you looking specifically for a TRD PRO? if you aren't and are willing to travel outside of GTA there are a few new 4runners available (9 in the province of ontario). there's a TRD offroad in simcoe as of this post date/time

I've seen the one you are talking about. I don't want the KDSS system and possible corrosion issues downnthe road with all the winter salt.

The Toyota dealer I bought my 4runner from called on Saturday asking if I wanted to "sell it for 110% of current market value".
No thanks.

If values stay high it should make for interesting decisions when the new 4Runner comes out.

Shipping/transit delays and price increase due to lack of drivers and fuel.
Many industries are being effected by semiconductor chip shortages, including automotive.
So yes… what you are seeing is normal. Just order it and wait… and don’t expect any discounts. All I’ve been doing at work is raising prices of goods, and it's still flying off the shelf.

Someone with knowledge of the timber industry posted in the 3rd gen forum that the problem there is timber being at record lows, so its not worth harvesting. Which created a lumber shortage and paradoxical price increase in lumber products. This stuff happens, just wait it out if you can. Takes a little time for things to adapt to shake ups. I think house prices have now hit the point of diminished returns vs mortgage rates for example. Will be a while for cars with this chip thing probably.

That said I do sort of wonder if we aren't in WW3 already without realizing, and witnessing hybrid/non-linear warfare in play. The cyber attack certainly makes me wonder.

North America has rebounded way more quickly than anticipated back then, and because there are 6-month+ lead times on a lot of things (chips, components, etc.) supply is behind where demand is for finished goods, because the supply chain needs to catch up.
Overall the capacity is there, it's just a temporary problem because of demand forecasts that were way too pessimistic.
So yeah, if you want something now, you wont get a screaming deal, but if you can wait half a year, it will be back closer to "normal" ...

Add to this scarcity mindset, low interest rates and a bit of panic buying and you have what we're seeing. Wait it out if you can.

Well, as usual the Fed gov doesn’t do anything until it has to. Once the USA wakes up, these hackers and nations are going to pay, but it’s going to take a total disaster, as usual.

I guess I’m lucking out in selling my house now, but I’m going to be stuck paying a premium for the 4Runner. Unfortunately, my ex is taking our other car and I don’t want to have my ‘07 to be my only ride. I guess I could buy a Kia, lol, or a Jeep, LOL!

My local dealer typically had 12 -18 4Runners listed on their website at any given time. Yes some would be already sold before arriving, even the Pro I ordered was on their website until I did the paperwork. But now their site only shows 1.
