Oil filter color change?

Hi, I have a 2011 Limited and I’ve always gotten paper filters for oil changes off of Amazon. The one I got today however is the first one I’ve ever seen that is orange, so curious if Toyota changed the color of these or if I had someone do the old
switcheroo?

Oil filter color change?-img_2759-jpg

Thanks!

I did an oil change in my Land Cruiser yesterday using a filter I purchased at the dealer parts counter. It was orange like the one in your picture. Unless they bought theirs from Amazon I would say it's a color change from a different manufacturer. Box said made in Thailand I think. I also thought i remember the part number being printed on the filter in previous changes, but maybe not.

I still have a case of white filters. I sense their price is rising.

I would avoid filters off Amazon unless you can confirm it's coming from a Toyota dealer. Lots of fake Toyota service parts on there.

Rocko9999 is correct. Can't trust Amazon for vehicle parts--see this link to CarCareNut re: fake oil filters.:

The last ones I bought were lighter in color then the ones I bought 7-8 years ago. Depends on the supplier. Do the orange one in the OP have a p/n on the actual filter?
