DRL harness to power raptor lights?

I am hoping to delete the DRL in the headlight - abandon bulbs and use the 9005 bulb harnesses to power raptor lights. Does anyone make such a kit?

2023 TRD Pro with LED headlight package

Thanks!

DRL harness to power raptor lights?

Grab a 9005 extension from Amazon for less than $10. Passenger side bridge the leads together and run the single wire to the positive on the raptor lights. Leave driver’s side disconnected

Thank you for the input! This sounds promising.

I get the idea, but I’m not 100% clear on how to execute it. Any chance you can sketch a quick wiring diagram?

Why not just turn the DRL off in the infotainment controls and run a high-quality LED unit instead of a weaker 9005.
The wiring is so easy as well...........

Do this:

Also note that your raptor lights will turn off when your headlights turn on. If you want them to stay on, run this harness to pin 87A on a relay, fused power from the battery to pin 87, pin 30 to positive on raptor lights, tap low beam power to pin 86, and ground to pin 85

I just turn the DRL's off thru the screen setting. I run Lasfit Switchbacks and just keep my parking lights on. I also have the Diode Dynamic backlit fogs which also I run with the parking lights. I just tapped the wire going to the smallest side marker light as the backlight doesn't need massive current. Same with your raptor lights. I used crimp with solder heat shrink connectors and can't imagine they'll ever be a problem. I wouldn't do it with a non weatherproof connector or scotch lock or tap the injector fuse as many do under the hood.

this is easy to do as well...............
You can have ultimate control of your raptor lights and change your high beam bulb to whatever you desire

NB17Limited,
This sounds great! Essentially splice the two wires from the passenger side into one, hook that up to positive on the raptor lights. Ground the raptor lights to a good ground.
Sounds very simple!

PS - here comes a dense question… it’s ok to splice together the two wires? Isn’t one hot and other neutral?

And yes, I do want them to go off when headlights come on, I really want them to be function like a DRL.

They are run in series on your year. So the passenger side has positive and negative but the negative side goes to the driver’s side positive instead of ground. You’re essentially changing them to parallel. Could accomplish the same thing by jumpering the two together on the passenger side and taking ground and positive on the driver’s side for raptor lights. Both done via 9005 extensions. Passenger is a small loop on the male plug and driver’s you solder the raptor lights in.

Good results!

Happy to report this worked out great, thank you all for your guidance & support.

Unplugged the driver’s side bulb and capped it off (see blue plug).

On the passenger side, I got a spare harness, spliced the two wires together and connected to positive side of the raptor lights. Then landed the ground from the raptor lights onto the passenger side wall, behind the air pump.

Raptor lights now work as my DRLs, they come on during the day and go off when the headlights come on. Exactly what I envisioned.

Also, have to give a great review for the YotaLEDs 4Runner 3pcs LED Grille Lights "Raptor Lights“. They look really good, the LEDs fill the whole housing with light as opposed to many other kits where you can clearly see the diodes. These have a very nice OEM look & finish.
