The front and rear overlay lines have a red line closest to the vehicle. I piled up some empty boxes to the height of the rear bumper, got in the car and backed it up until the red line touched the top box. Then I got out and measured the distance from the bumper to the boxes. 11 inches. That’s very useful information.

I have another dealer working on a ORP, the only difference is it’s the metallic grey color and not the nautical blue I really want. It has KDSS and everything the other one had but they actually beat the deep discount the other dealer was offering, which is about $4500 off MSRP, bringing it down to about $46k.

Dumb question but is this a good deal to take?

The girl handles like a sports car. Off road with kdss is just a waste of money. I can disconnect my sway bars for free and easy. Not for 2 grand. Kdss is a grandpa feature. Not to mention a extremely expensive fix if failure occurs. I prefer fully mechanical systems with far less failure points. This is for my driving style and conditions though. Grandpa's and Granny's will want the kdss.
Thanks, I needed a good laugh today.

This 2016 TEP w/KDSS is a big step up from the 1986 Subaru GL wagon I used on the Outer Banks beaches for 14 years. That thing would go anywhere in the sand on 185/70-13 tires. Dual range 5 speed, factory skid plate, 3 position manually adjustable rear shocks and armored exhaust. All factory, including the white spoke wheels. The front sub frame finally rusted apart.

Not if you cant be happy with the color. Color choice is no big deal to some people, but if you REALLY want the blue, settling for a grey one will make you hate paying the note. I have had a perfect vehicle before, every option, every box checked, every detail perfect EXCEPT it wasnt my favorite color. The note was trivial, only like $350 a month after a great trade in value on previous vehicle but after 6 months i hated paying the note. Truck was awesome in every way, perfect and exactly what i wanted, but a few months in after the "new" wore off i hated it and despised paying the note. I had it less than a year and took a loss getting rid of it. Make sure you get what you want or you may not be as happy with your purchase in the end.

The metallic grey would be my second choice and it’s what this one is. My wife prefers the grey as does my daughter.

I’m surprised dealers are doing discounts on these vehicles. We are getting a very nice trade in value and the note isn’t going to be to much for us. I’m already looking at getting the black emblem overlays and the OEM steps as we like the look of them.

The tires that this one has are the Bridgestone Dueler H/T. They look like street tires to me. I asked the salesperson if we could swap them out with some All Terrain tires as we live in an area that gets winter weather and I was told these are All Terrain tires.

They shouldn’t drive any different. Same shocks, springs, doors. Like others mentioned, the off-road may have kdss which may act slightly different than standard sway bars in the sr5 but honestly shouldn’t be enough to notice, ok the road at least… So for daily driving, just pick the one you like the most with the features you want. The off-road will have a rear locker but for your purposes shouldn’t matter. It might make snow driving more dangerous if anything. And on the topic of Manuel shifter vs dial shifter, I don’t think it matters. People like the idea of the manual shifter and think the dial is more prone to failure but I haven’t heard many reports of that. Just seems to be what’s commonly believed.

Do what you will with that information.

The Dueler H/Ts are the OEM tire on these, so doubtful a dealership is going to swap them out to make a deal unless they are worn down a lot. A lot of people here swap them out as they are indeed a road tire, not an All Terrain.
