Mattress for back of the 4r. Any good recommendations.

Im going to mammoth to camp. going to sleep in the back of the 4r. I just got an inflatable one from Amazon. But this one didnt quite fit. Was a little too long to shut door. And the figure “T” didn’t fit that good as well. Any suggestions? Thanks

Got this one

I had this one. Seemed ideal as it was slightly padded over the wheel wells and was flush with the back bottom seats when they were unfolded. I’m 6’3 and my wife, young son and myself had plenty of room and it was comfortable. A little high relative to the ceiling, but not bad. The second night it popped. Couldn’t find the leak and that’s when I said no more air mattress.

I use this one that fit between the fender wells and is a fair width for two people. Takes up room though in the stow, rolled up position, but depends on how many people and how much stuff you’re taking. If you’re over 6’ you will probably have to temporarily remove the rear seat bottoms. Get the twin, 75x38x3. I think a 4” thickness would be better.

You're 6'3" and you fit in the back of the T4R? Did you have to sleep diagonal?

With the first thick air mattress I had, the height of the mattress was even with the height of the rear seat bottoms unfolded forward. Laying the pillow on top of the mattress and the unfolded seat bottom, which were level, it was plenty of room. I think it measures close to 78”, IIRC. Without, and the thinner mattress, you have to remove the rear seat bottoms and add some fillers to raise that void up to the necessary height of the mattress to get that 78” in overall length.

Sleeping in the back setups?

Sleeping mattress material?

AirBedz mattress

Anyone use an Exped Megamat Duo in the back?

Mattress for back of the 4r. Any good recommendations.

I have one from Deepsleep Overland. Custom fit for the 4Runner and it’s the best sleep I’ve ever had camping!
