I actually asked the dealer about this when I bought my 4R and the reason the rear window only goes down on the keyfob and not up is for child safety reasons. It was something about not wanting to jam your 3 y/o's head between the glass and window being a potential lawsuit or something when you leave him or her in the car while you go to the mall for 4 hours. Sounds to me they're placating the population that isn't smart enough to have kids period.
