I think I'm gonna just rebuild my 3.0--I just bought (last night) a 95 with the 3VZ-E(minus a rod), and any swaps will be costly. I think the easiest swap would be the 22re seeing how they did put these in the 2nd gens as well. I do actually like the 22RE, doing most of the labor myself (except for machine work), I built my 22RE in my 85, and I have about the same hp and torque out of it as the 3.0 has, I'm sitting inbetween 150-160hp and about 160ft lb of torque. And still getting close to 20 mpg with 35" tires. I built it for about 1300$, so not to bad. As for the 3.0 though, It sucks because I don't have much money right now so I think I'm just going to do a 3.0 crate motor, as I'm sure my cranks gone and severely damaged cylinder walls. I was checking into how much the 3.4 conversion would be.... Not including the engine---between 1200-2000$ for everything else needed, plus who knows how much for a decent 3.4.
