And another and probably my biggest concern would be hitches are rated for straight line pulls of rolling weight, not dragging or hoisting. Hitch receivers are not an adequate mounting point for winching.

If you do keep the winch mounted outside it in a cradle it will drastically reduce with your approach or departure angle. If you keep it inside you better make sure you secure it. If you have it loose and you are in an accident the winch will tumble around if not secured. That could easily do allot of damage to the interior of your vehicle possible eve kill somebody that is in the vehicle.
