I wish you had posted this last week. I took my trailer hitch off last week to paint because it had some rust spots on the welds, and I decided to tackle that greying step piece as well. (I also plasti dipped my emblems)

Those clips aren't real easy to get off (not as bad as the fender liner), but I was afraid I would break the two on the end until I realized they just pulled out.

I looked for some satin black spray paint made for plastic, but couldn't find any, so I started with a primer made for plastics. The stuff was clear, and actually brought back the color pretty well by itself, but I followed up with a couple coats of plain spray paint.

We've had a couple really bad storms since I did the step and the emblems and they seem to be holding up quite well. I'd like to know how the plasti-dip holds up on that step over time.

Does anybody have a method for renewing the black on the running boards? I know most people take them off, so it may not be an issue. I would be afraid to paint them since they get stepped on so much.
