The majority of the protesters want MORE government, and they want corporations to be more regulated. Their frustration is built on a foundation of misunderstanding. More regulation can make it more difficult to do business thus making it more expensive for the populace.
There will always be a need to balance government and capitalism. Take the auto industry for example. If there were not governmental safety standards, we'd be driving in beer cans with wheels. But if the industry becomes over regulated and car manufacturers have to build cars like tanks, the expense is passed on to the consumer.
In reality, consider the Durbin amendment. This was supposed to alleviate some stress on the merchant, but it has ended up costing lost revenue for corporations, increased fees for consumers and increased costs for small businesses - the very people the law was designed to help - it ended up hurting.
At this time it seems many want to see capitalism fail. Have fun waiting in line for toilet paper.
