The shipping time, customer service and lack of communication after the buyout convinced me to never order from them again.
They never even made mention on their website during the "transition" that there could be delays. They only replied days after I emailed them that they were moving warehouses. Never mentioned they were no longer the same company.
They are still riding the old name without actually letting people know that it is a different company. I do not trust them.

to the OP- we're responding to all PM's and emails within 24-48 hours, which is at least on par with old ownerships response time. How did you reach out?
We're responding to all threads and PM's here on the forum when we're tagged or in a post that we're subscribed to as well.
We apologize if anybody got the wrong impression, but no matter the management or location of XD - we are just as committed to taking care of our customers as ever.

Hmm well... you always want to give the benefit of the doubt as it is a transition but we will see...
I couldn't recommend them enough before the buyout. Now idk. Has anyone had dealings with the retrofit source customer service? That might be some indication of what's to be expected.
I was thinking about converting back to halogen with a H9 conversion after something fails on my 5200k philips kit. The cost and ability to replace on the fly (bulbs are in stores everywhere) being my reasoning. Don't get me wrong the HID's are ****ing fantastic but not exactly necessary, expensive, and have several failure points compared to OEM.

Link to the TRS google reviews page, not too shabby!
https://www.google.com/search?q=the+retrofit+source+google&oq=the+retrofit+source+google&aqs=chrome..69i57j0j69i60l3j69i65.2191j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8,,,
We are human, we made a few mistakes and let a few things slip through the cracks during the transition, no question.
But things are back up and running normally now. If you reach out, there should be no problem getting a timely response...whether its a product recommendation or problem with an existing order, we're here!
Mutant - maybe try going with LED. HID stuff definitely provides the most actual light output, but there is indeed a lot of wiring and more failure points. LED is vastly more simple, still a great upgrade over halogen, and provides the intensity intensity, white light that everybody wants.

Just something to add here. I've purchased a few things from The Retrofit Source and have have nothing but very good customer service. I even got a discount on something to test for and report back since it was a new year model and they weren't positive of the fitment. Good people.
I also use Automotive Lighting & Accessories: HID Kits | LEDs | Audio/Video for all of my 4runners stuff. Nothing but awesome things to say about thier products and even better customer service. Some of the best I've experienced!!!

How disappointing. Didn't have a great experience with TRS and now it looks like I have 1 less option.

The joys of customer support in small business. Best of luck to both sides.

Just placed an order with
@ XenonDepot
using my rewards points in case they decide to discontinue that program. PayPal transaction shows the payment goes to TRS now.
Pre-TRS my order would ship out within one business day then arrive within a week even though it came from Canada; crossing my fingers with the TRS takeover the shipping will still be just as prompt, since the last TRS order I placed took several days after I placed the order before it was actually shipped.

Mine took over a week to ship and got no confirmation of shipping until I asked. Never happened when it shipped from Canada
I really hope it all changes.
@ XenonDepot
makes some good stuff and i've ordered from them time and time again in the past

It’s been over 24 hours since I placed the order and received email confirmation that my order was processed, but no shipping update yet. I’m already missing the pre-TRS Xenon Depot. If I wasn’t using the rewards points I would’ve just placed the order through Lightwerkz or DC Customs (a longtime XD dealer)

I've been buying quality parts from TRS for years (Several full retrofits) because anything they sell, they stand behind 110%.
Had nothing but top quality service from them when I had an early failure on a ballast. Sure anyone can have a bad experience, but I can tell you that is not the "Norm" with TRS!
