WTF are these crazy ads on here????
the ads that are on this website are absurd and disgusting...
does anyone else have to endure these kind of ads at the bottom of EVERY page?
this forum is littered with ads, like what the heck! this needs to be removed and we need to take our forum back before it goes extinct!

Ads like those and others are why I have an adblock, if you use Chrome or Firefox I recommend uBlock Origin

Only when I'm on mobile. But I was just having that very same thought the other day.
Recently when I've been browsing on my phone, I'll open a thread or go to make a post and after about 15 seconds I get taken to some other webpage to enter some bullshit sweepstakes. Absolutely ridiculous.

Agreed. The forum is unusable on mobile due to the ad placement. I can't stand it, won't log in without ad block or using tapatalk to get rid of them

I see no ads on the web. I just checked my iPhone Xr (using Safari web browser) and there is a strip ad for T-Mobile across the top and a smaller one for Frontrunner at the bottom. No disgusting ai-generated fake disease pictures. It would be nice if the forum operators could have some control over the ad content and reject the obvious spammy/phishing stuff.

I use Firefox on my computer and phone with uBlock Origin running on each. Unfortunately I am subjected to strict IT policies at work so I too get to see all of these ads while on the work computer. I agree these things are terribly annoying.

Way to late for that. It was dying 8 years ago. Today it's on life support. It'll be gone soon enough.

All forums are slowly dying off. Some forums also shoot themselves in the foot by having lame moderators who are quick to ban people for little cause and with no warning given. Tacoma World is a good example of a forum managed by idiots. Imagine a forum that bans people for sharing DIY videos related to the model vehicles driven by the members. Tacoma World and Tundras.com that are both managed by the same idiot moderators who banned me from both sites citing something like "Self-Promotion or Spamming". At least this forum welcomes someone like myself and
@ infamousRNR
who create content that directly benefits the membership.
So, even though T4R is clearly dying off, it's head and shoulders better in my opinion than some others. I'll take lack of moderation over oppressive moderation any day.

Recently, when browsing on my computer, When clicking on a thread to read, Windows Defender directs the page to a red, full screen warning of issues related to either the site or content within the page I had just clicked to open. It has occurred a half dozen times in the past week.

I understand that the world runs on money, and ads are how the site stays up. But those ads are gross, I hate seeing it on mobile.
Really wish they wouldn’t show such disgusting ads, because the site is impossible to use without blockers.
Even still, I’ll be a forum user to the end. I don’t want to use a facebook group and have facebook drama. The forum is easier to use, it’s a resource, facebook is a social media to me.

I use both, Toyota forums and Toyota Facebook groups. Because I operate a YouTube channel with
@ infamousRNR
, I want people to find our videos and benefit from them, so I post our videos on dozens of Facebook groups and Sean posts them on our Instagram page. I'm also able to help a lot of people by answering their questions on these groups, so being on Social Media isn't all bad.
I'm not a huge fan of Social Media, mainly due to their clearly slanted viewpoint of the world and the censorship that goes along with it. All of the big Social Media sites are heavily slanted to the Liberal Political mindset. The censorship is very clear if you have conservative views and it was also made very clear during the covid pandemic. Anyone going against the narrative of Be Afraid of Your Fellow Man, Social Distance, Wear a Mask, and line up to take an Experimental Vaccine, was shut down and canceled. It was a Gross Display of Censorship. Facebook Fact Checkers are an example of blatant censorship and a violation of our 1st Amendment Rights. If they control the information you see, they control you. Whatever happened to having debate? Let people figure out for themselves what's true and what's not. I'm clearly not a fan of letting a company with their fact checkers control what people can and cannot say. If I didn't need Social Media, including YouTube, as a vehicle to reach people with our videos, I'd probably avoid all of them. Most of my feed now is all about Toyotas and Lexuses and I like it that way.
I'll also be a forum user to the end. Hopefully the people in charge of T4R make some changes for the better.

So, with all due respect of someone I've never met, and with all the politeness I can muster?
Just, wow.
I have no issues with folks having polar opposite political views. Many of my actual, physical, IRL, friends count themselves as old school Conservatives from way back. I lean more left of center, personally, but don't tend to make it other foks problem.
Anyone who, at this stage, is still going on as the above quoted section goes?
Please, be like my now party-less friends, who're sad that there's is no right of center anymore, complete with respect for science, truth, civility, and care for others less fortunate.
What's taken it's place is a toxic divisiveness that does our nation, no good at all, and it saddens me greatly to see it on a forum as cool and non political as this one.
