Gas prices.....

OK I know this is stupid type of question.

Our prices as low as $2.39 per gallon here .

What do you guess will happen over the next few years ? It really is impossible to tell , but wondering your thoughts . Will see push $4-$5 per gallon again ???

Any guesses on a time frame ? And why we dropped so significantly so fast.

We have already started to run winter blend fuel here. my milage has already dropped by 1 mpg to 16.5 city with the cold air a little more warm up time so maybe it's just that doing it.

NOTE , I didn't but his truck and v8 for milage and don't much care , but just wonder your thoughts in the 4R community.

Good day

Depends on how our economy goes which is anyone's guess also but I think they'll be back over $3/gal by spring but over $4 will return sometime but hopefully not for a while.

I hope most americans learned something from our high gas prices and learn to be a little more conservative and remember that this repreive from high gas prices is really just temporary.

Its nice to have now though , but I think some are looking at it a different way. I talked to a guy the AM at the gas station with a HUGE Ram . He's was all excited that the cycle of high gas prices broke. I just smiled and said yeah , it's nice. I didn't want to burst his bubble for the future.

I understand people having the need for large trucks and SUVs but it's the ones that just have to one haul around their egos.

$2.40 here. I think once the election passes and we get into next year prices will rise again. If the economy recovers, it'll be even higher. I predict by next summer we're going to see $4, unless the 6% in US gas consumption is permanent as well the reduction in consumption abroad. I'm going to say it was the higher prices in the past was a test, it tested us, we b**ched, whined, complained and paid it. So they have no problems getting drivers to pay $4 and $5 again because we already have.

At the end of the day, Americans in general are wasteful. Just look at all the packaging we have for our products that are discarded. Here even after rolling blackouts in early 2000s, Californians haven't learned much for conserving energy. Other tenants in our office building don't turn off lights during heatwave days, even when building management suggests it. And this whole day light savings crap, what does it really save? I have to turn on the lights when I get up because it's darker. Rant over getting off my :soapbox:

Off topic , I never turn off my AC or lights when the electric co. come a calling to prevent over loads. Reason being I have had many people I know that have requested with their energy bill an basically were told to shove it . I pay enough money , you better supply me with what I need.

Also recently had a situation where tree's on the north side of my property HAD to be cut/trimmed as they were inter fearing in other people power. They went as far as taking me to court because the expensive issues the incurred and man hours. So I went to court armed with the survey and it showed the nursery next door owned the tree's , not me. Needless to say it was my turn to say shove it !!

I do conserve my own things for my personal benefit , I hardly recycle . It;s a PROVEN fact here with hidden camera's caught many different times where only 10% of products we collected and had to take to the site for recycling that almost nothing goes to recycling. Very sad , but true. I will not waste my gas and personal cost's to pay for this fluff. We have a thing we do to melt down and burn all the plastic , paper products , brush ect..... for less waste. Best I can do for now , unless they come up with a solution.

Back to gas topic: Time will tell . I'm the type of person where I may buy a 6 cylinder to get an extra couple miles per gallon and conserve a little fuel , but otherwise drive what I like an am comfortable.
