Window Tint
So, I'm about to get my windows tinted in the next month or so and I went to a local place and they asked me if I wanted regular tint or some new kind of tint called "carbon." Does anyone know the difference between the two and is the carbon worth the extra cash?

I'm guessing carbon may reduce the heat a little more. How much extra is it?
Where are you having it done?
I paid $60 for my fronts.

Yeah, I think it's suppose to reduce heat too...I'm not sure yet where I'm gonna have it done. I went to Rogers Stereo on Thursday and those guys are sketchy as hell and I'm not too sure if I'm gonna go with them. I called Blackwell's in Seneca today and the person who answered the phone didn't even know what carbon tint was...idiots. I really wanna see a picture of how it looks and if its worth the extra cash. I'm gonna get all my windows tinted again and it's like $180 for regular tint at Blackwell's and Rogers...

I probably wouldn't pay extra for it, but that's just me.
I got mine done at Eclipse Tinting in Greenville. I wouldn't go to Rogers for sure, they are way over priced.

I would not go to any tint shop that has no sample of their products.

Yea stay away from places that seem shady. And DO NOT pay extra for carbon, you can not physically tell any difference at all. You will notice a significant difference with any tint compared to stock but nothing between reg tint and carbon tint.

I've had good luck with Eclipse Tinting on Garlington Road and Automotive Accent on Pleasentburg.

Roger's Stereo....that brings back memories. Been a LONG time since I heard that name. I was born and Raised in Hendersonville and me and some high school buddies used to make the trip down to Rogers for stereo/alarm work.

I just had my truck windshield tinted with a ceramic tint. I think it actually enhanced my vision. The guy told me it's the best stuff out there. Just my .02.

They don't do a bad job, they are just a little expensive and seem to take a long time.
Eclipse Tinting is basically a one man operation. He does it by hand. It isn't as precise as other shops that use a machine, but it is cheaper.
Automotive Accents uses the machine and does good work.
