Check out Corral Canyon OHV area just under an hour drive east of San Diego. I've been there. It's ok for a day trip - nothing too challenging There are also two primitive camprounds. You'll sometimes find Jeep clubs out there. You'll also see ATV's.

San Diego

I will be leaving Iraq in 4 hours and headed for San Diego. I'm in customs right now. I will check it out for sure when I'm back.

Anzo-Borrego Desert is just 2 hours from SD and has endless trails and unlimited camping.
