I had one in my 2006 Tundra. It was a solid piece of gear and it did tend to rattle a tad, but that was easily fixed, as another poster mentioned. Easy to install, but also very secure: you'd need a significant amount of time to pry this thing open, which most thieves either don't have or are not willing to spend.
It took up the entire console. Now, the Tundra didn't have the AC outlet, and I'm not sure how they build around that for the 4Runner, but I would suspect that you would no longer be able to use it.
The steel was thick/heavy, but I didn't get the sense that I "lost" a ton of room due to the product, itself. YMMV.
Personally, I won't do business with them due to the last group buy fiasco. Also, there are now a lot more options out there as far as vehicle gun lockers. No, maybe not many (or any - I haven't looked) that fit your console *perfectly*, but the overall goal - as I see it - is function, not form. That said, I know a lot of people prefer something more OEM-ish, so to each his own.
