So let me get this right, you requested the decal to be done by another company which you found here on this forum and then they took the design and is now selling it on their site but you say its not stolen artwork? Please explain how that is stealing someones artwork.

As for your claim about the the decals in question being sold on other sites, please provide links to the exact same decals. The only site that I have seen that have these decals on is overlook graphics. There are designs that are similar but not like the ones I posted on here specifically the mountain edition and Toyota racing development ones because I made those upon request so to say they were not stolen is a load of crap.

With that said, I support the men and women who serve as well as their families as I have numerous family members who have served and are still serving so thank you for you service and I applaud this company for doing what they do for military families however I don't see how this has anything to do with what we are talking about.

Yea so it was your mistake in leading them to believe that it was your design to begin with. Its your responsibility to fix, and until then, anyone can say anything they want about who got what from where; no one else knows how they got it. The design belongs to @tigger and you should definitely clear that up with Overlook Graphics.

I also was not trying to imply that the original pricing was not out of line. I did not know that it was two separate people with the design. I was trying to reconcile the differences is all.

My understanding that there a large mass vinyl distributor and they just started doing designs so there price is much lower then any one else. They use same vinyl has in shops.

This is very messed up. You took someone's intellectual property without permission and gave it to another company to profit from, while implying it was your original design. Did they pay you? I would say it's diabolical, but judging from your grammar...

Maybe a resident lawyer can write up a cease and desist for these companies.

I am very disappointed with the way this design has been handled. I placed the file out there for the use of the members, and allowed for them to be sold as a group buy for those who didn't have access to a graphics person.

I never authorized any company to sell these on their website and especially use my vehicle image for their personal gain.

I have sent an email to Overlook Graphics requesting them to remove the graphic and image from their website.

If you find other companies selling these, please let me know and I will contact them as well.

And as for the person who said the design wasn't copyrighted, guess again. The moment I posted the image, it was automatically copyrighted.

So you are telling me that all of the decals they are selling on their website is artwork they "own" of have "altered" upon customer request? If that is the case then why the hell are they using the image of @tigger s car and the preview images that I created and posted here on the forum? I also see decals that are sold on other sites that are also sold on their site but using the preview images from the sites they took the decals from? So those are altered too right? Also, since you were so adamant yesterday about these being sold elsewhere, where are the links to back up your claim? You don't have them because they don't exist. And for someone who admittedly claimed they took someones elsewhere artworks and claimed it as their own, its pretty pathetic you can't own up to your mistakes. And just because it was "altered" it does not make it yours or theirs. Its still stolen intellectual property.

Also, you are full of shit to say you have no affiliation to the company yet your name is "Decal4runner" and you have 10 posts all of which are in this thread alone backing this company up. You're fooling no one...

Now that all this information has come to light I went ahead and ordered one. Yeah.... I gave them $18, but the intent is to have a record of those "subtle design differences to avoid copyright infringement."

For some reason I doubt there are any differences at all. And I agree: Sheisty practice to post a picture of a product that does not in fact portray what that product actually looks like.

WOW a lot of drama here. I had just ordered a custom Mountain logo from them after ordering a window flag logo last week. I had no idea.

The flag logo from them has been highly praised in another thread.

My guess is they had no intention of stealing IP, they just used what was given to them to promote to other likely buyers. Will wait to see what their reply is after a few days.

Just have to say that customer service and promptness for this group buy was excellent for me - 5280 dealt with tons of indisicion on my part and drew up many options for me. I requested a few of the designs mentioned and they are for sure his... I wouldn't think of taking the pic to another place after that kind of attention to what I am looking for.

Bigger and smaller shops have different prices but right is right in my book

Sorry that OP and @tigger have to deal with this bull. Hopefully the company will understand their mistake and amend the situation. As for @Decals4runner , the fact that you are willing to back up something like this, and not your fellow 4Runner Forum Members, one who spent a lot of time creating the design, and the other who put together a group buy for the rest of us T4R'ers (after contacting the graphic owner and getting expressed permission), is very disappointing. You are no fellow member of mine. "Altered" or not, it's just plain wrong.

@tigger @4RunnERD ecals and the rest of the group. A customer bought this forum to my attention yesterday. @tigger I would like to apologize first for the mishap, confusion, and public attention that your company has receive. This design was bought to us by a customer requesting it at one of our shops then later claim that this was his design has sold it to us. Which we had redesign and gave customer more options. I would like to talk more about this via phone. Regarding @4RunnERD ecals does not about of my company !!!!!Do not speak on our behave If you are the person that sold us the design. That is shameful to steal someone work. @tigger I have posted a photo of our design look at it and the rest of the group can compare it. We strive on professionalism, customer feed back and honesty.
