Looking awesome with that lift!! I installed the Vaistech SiriusXM unit on my wife's 06 and it's excellent. Highly recommended.

I had a '03 4Runner prior to this truck and it required the spacer to deal with the "toyota lean". I discovered, however, that the GX does not require the spacer when you use the Overlanding coils so it was removed the other day.

Nice looking setup!

I am picking up an 06 sport tomorrow in order to start my next project.

Does your 07 have KDSS?

Any reason you went with those tires? I am not sure how a c rated tire will do with such a heavy vehicle... I was looking at the 255/80R17 in an E rating.

Also- how the hell did you get a grom unit so far from CA? I thought they were still just doing local guys for beta testing.

My '07 does not have KDSS.

The stock tires are P tires, the C load range has no problems. The only benefit of going with E's is the additional thickness in the sidewall but they weigh a lot more.

GROM had a sale for around 50% off, so I grabbed one while it was up! Arrived on my doorstep a week later.

Brake time

It's time for an update post. She made it through Rausch on two separate events (FJNE and CMCC) without any real damage. Had extended sway bar links installed the other day and brakes today.

As I've noticed that the actual part numbers are absent on this forum, here are the part numbers for the GX470's.

Toyota 47730-60261, Front Right Brake Caliper

Toyota 47750-60261, Front Left Brake Caliper

Toyota 47730-34030, Rear Right Brake Caliper

Toyota 47750-34030, Rear Left Brake Caliper

Toyota 47748-35010, Disc Brake Pad Retaining Clip (W Shaped Clip that prevents rattling, need to buy 2 for front)

Toyota 04465-35290 Front Brake Pad Set (make sure you look closely at the pads before installing. Only one pad with a metal tab on the bottom of it per side!)

Toyota 04466-60090, Rear Brake Pad Set

Toyota 04945-35120, Front Brake Shim Kit (Shims with slits in them go underneath the solid shims, use a light coat of brake grease)

Toyota 04946-30100, Rear Brake Shim Kit

Toyota 43512-60151, Front Disc Brake Rotor (Order 2 obviously)

Toyota 42431-60201, Rear Disc Brake Rotor (Order 2. Requires (2) 8mmx1.25 bolts. Gently thread the bolts through the holes on the old rotors to back the rotor off the hub before removing).

Picture for attention: Rear suspension at full droop on both sides while on the lift. Gonna need new upper control arms and SS extended brake lines soon!

How is the GROM system holding up? Can you add an additional camera? What happens when you don't have internet connectivity, do you just use a stored version of google maps? Is there anything you don't like?

I'm trying to decide if i want to pull the trigger on a GX with Nav or if i want to do the non nav and get an android radio/nav system. Thanks!

Finding a GX without nav would definitely be cheaper. I like the GROM unit, but it only recently became usable due to an update. The software is slow and has a lot of bugs but you can download any Android app on it that will work on a tablet. I haven't tried using it while not connected to the internet. GROM is getting better, but it's just not there yet.

TLDR For now go with an aftermarket Android unit in a truck without navigation.
