fuel pump?

so I picked up this totalled 1995 4runner and have been trying to get it up and running lately. When I got it, the engine would barely turn over and then promptly die. I replaced the spark plugs and threw in some fresh oil and coolant and tried to start her up and nothing.

I think it might be the fuel pump b/c I don't hear anything click on when I turn the key and it acted like it was starving for fuel the few times I did get it to run. Anyone dealt with this before? Anything else I should check for that would keep it from turning over?

It always helps to know what engine you have.

Have you checked the fuel filter? it could be clogged.
