I just responded to your message asking about the rack and mentioned these in before seeing this comment with asking about them. Serendipity I suppose. I don't have the brackets here -- will measure when I go to my shop and get back to you. But yes they completely clear gate. There's also this thing you can do with the awning itself to give it a couple more inches and keep these brackets as small as possible. Happy to explain that later.
