It's nice to see someone else bold enough to have a different engine in his rig--I was beginning to think I was the only one on the site. I went a tad bigger, with the extra 2 cylinders--a TBI 350. I wanted the fuel injection to better deal with elevation changes and steep hillclimbs, etc.. Any difficulties with your swap? Did you have to fabricate much, or did you take advantage of the many aftermarket suppliers for parts? I wonder, after being on this site for a while and not seeing any others like this (until now), and not even being asked about mine after mentioning the swap, if the community sees the swap as "sacreligious" or something? No one's had bad comments...but then, hardly anyone's had anything GOOD to say, either. Weird. Oh well, I didn't do it for anyone but me, and I intend to enjoy it! Hat's off to ya'!
I Built all of my mounts & exhaust. Everthing else bolted up the way it was supose to considering that I used all the gm parts. Now it is a 4.3 F/I vortec engine and a 350 turbo tranny. It is now straight axled too. I can honestly say that this is a built not bought rig. Im really happy with the performance of the chevy parts in the toyota body.
