Nah, it was an option. Its the only one i've ever seen that came without the roof rack, or running boards (to the best of my knowledge). Its had a strange life. I don't know if it was bought in the states or not because it was owned by a guy in the Airforce, and spent the first couple years of its life in Germany when he was stationed there. He must've been transferred to Dover, AFB, Delaware, and when he got transferred back to Germany in 06 he put it with a local Honda dealer for consignment. I went in to a see a buddy of mine about buying a used Cherokee they had, and ended up leaving with her. One of the best choices i've ever made
