Good to know. How do you get to the retaining nut above the headliner? How hard is it to remove this shark fin? Does it perform any other function than Xm radio, like a GPS locator on the NAV map?
to get at the nut, pull the headliner down. remove the hangers, and the grocery bag hooks, and pry the plastic panels away. pop off the 3 retaining clips, and pull the headliner down. you can pull it down just far enough to get at the retaining nut.
not hard to remove. could be done in as little as 15 minutes, I took my time.
I don't know if nav still works, I hate it, I just use my phone. compass still works. will try the nav tomorrow.
there is only one wire to the sharkfin, so I think it is XM only.
