i got the same rpm cutoff brian, acts just like it does when in gear, 4.2k, barely on the throttle or hammering it, and it is bouncing just like a limiter, but it runs beyond great till it hit that rpm point. Where would i get a ecm for this? i have only owned it for 2 weeks or so. Damn tune up...

Ok, changed plugs, wires, air filter, pcv, cleaned mass air, throttle body, fuel filter. Runs like a damn demon......till it hits the rev limiter at 4100rpm. That has got to be what it is. It cold stops in its tracks and bounces just like it has hit the limiter. getting annoying. :mad:

I just bought my first 4runner, 1998 sr5 4x4 with 110k. Problem i have is when you hit 4 grand, its done, starts sputtering, backfire noises from intake, chokes out completely. All the way up to 4k it runs strong, then WHAM! instant brickwall. Does anyone have any clue what does this?
