Its the normal 3 coats of black plasti dip followed by two coats of regular dark gray rustoleum hammered spray paint.

An updated shot (wheels are now gunmetal-ish gray) from my usual parking garage photo spot. The 4Runner just hit the 70,000 mile mark too. Hoorah.

UPDATE: 1/28/12 Painted over plasti-dip with Rustoleum Hammered Dark Gray Spray paint. One can did all 4 wheels. It's a close match in color to the nerf bars, but just a touch lighter. In my usual parking garage photo spot... Outside said parking garage... Up close so you can see...

The reviews don't sound too promising if you need quick access in a hostile situation. I'm looking for a holster/lock box type thing as well

Decided to go back to black wheels. 4 layers of plasti-dip, 4 layers of clear coat.

Just an input to those of you reading this thread and possibly freaking out about your next brake pad/rotor change... I have almost 70k on my 2007 Sport Edition. I did my first rotor and pad change the other day (replacing all the originals) and the pistons on all 4 calipers pressed easily...

The spacers were on there before the new the brakes too. I just had already taken them off by the time I remembered to take pictures. I love Spidertrax more than egg mcmuffins at mcdonalds (that says a lot for me) :) It took about 6 hours with some breaks waiting for PB Blast to soak in...

... as well as WeatherTech floor mats and front window tint. I also painted the calipers with high heat silver spray paint since they were off anyways. The old rotors and pads have about 70,000 miles on them. Yes they are the originals. Needless to say, my steering wheel shook like crazy...

Great before and after pictures. I regret not taking better ones. Looking forward to more pictures with the new tires! Sorry about the camping out in the car part. It happens to all of us at one point or another. And at least you'll be camping ~3.5 inches higher. ;)

I've had a K&N drop-in for about 50,000 miles (also had K&N on my 350z for 89,000 miles). Cleaned the filter two or three times, light on the oil. Didn't have any problems, but cleaned the MAF anyways during a recent oil change. It wasn't black and I felt no difference whatsoever. Luck of...

Congratulations! I'm so glad you decided to pull the trigger and do it. It looks awesome! I think it helps that you already had 18's and added the spidertrax. The lift with 17's and stock tires looks much more.... weaksauce? Honestly, your truck looks so much better. Awesome decision...

It holds up very well. If it happens to chip or something, which didn't happen to me, you can just spray over the imperfections without re-doing the entire wheel. Standard clean with soap and water. Allow to dry thoroughly. No sanding. No priming. 3 coats of plasti-dip (light to heavy)...
