    Correct Radiator Cap 1995 4Runner 3.0

I'm with them... Time to stop dilly dallying around and take it to a reputable mechanic. You have already tried many things, started several new threads, and obviously spent more money than you should have at this point. I know it's frustrating, and everybody here really wants what is best...

    1988 T4R SR5 4WD for $2k - Good Deal?

From the pics, that one looks purdy nice! Never been too hip on the running boards though.

    1988 T4R SR5 4WD for $2k - Good Deal?

I have been doing a lot of searching lately and to find a 1st Gen in excellent condition, I am seeing that $5K is more acceptable of an asking price than I had originally expected. There are some out there with an asking price of over $9K, but of course the owners of these are trying to cover...

    1988 T4R SR5 4WD for $2k - Good Deal?

I saw this T4R in Autotrader... has over 30 pics of the inside, outside, and under hood. It does not have a clinometer as you can see here... I too was thinking about how it looks as if the fender wells have been masked to cover up some rust. However if you are local to where this truck is...

    Changing Lanes with Cruise Control

Does this 4R have aftermarket taillights? If so, there could be a short somewhere. Applying the brake should shut off the CC... but if when turn signal is on and there is a short coming from the turn signal to brake light, this may be a very simple fix. Again... just a hunch, offering my $.02

    87 not getting warm

Sounds to me like there is no problem if the temp gauge is where you say it is. If for some reason the temp gauge is not going up as high as it used to, maybe the gauge it's self is going bad. Maybe your fan clutch doesn't disengage, thus constantly pulling cooler air through the radiator?

    87 not getting warm

Just a hunch, but... When the heater hose came off, this must have leaked out SOME coolant. Did you make sure there was enough coolant in the radiator (cooling system) after you replaced the hose and hose clamp? Your temp gauge inside the truck measures fluid temp, not air thus possibly...

    What's First?

What any one person does first, second, third, or ????... is going to be different from person to person, and will even change day to day. This is your ride... Be inspired by others, but you make the call as to what goes on your ride, and when! Only real advice I have for you would be to...

    3.0 Opinion

I had a 3.0 V6 in an '88 Xtra Cab. And had the truck for 8 years before it was stolen and I never had a problem with it. A very common issue with the 3.0 is blown out head gaskets. In the 8 years and 160,000+ miles I owned that truck, this issue never presented it's self to me. But then...

    lifetime oil filter

It still needs to be taken out and cleaned every 3,000 miles. By the time the filter is cleaned, dried, and re-installed into the vehicle you could have (at the very least) Pizza Hut deliver a pizza and breadsticks. Sure... it sounds good, but at the low cost of a oil filter you can buy at...

Requesting info about '86 T4R Turbo...

Actually, no... I do not plan on doing "a lot of wheelin". The occasional camping/fishing trip over trails will more than likely be the roughest I have planned for this project vehicle. She wont be a trailer princess either though. I am purposely trying to stay away from a solid front axle...

Requesting info about '86 T4R Turbo...

Well, this (and the fact that it was only available with automatic transmission) being the case... Makes no sense to even bother with any 22RTE equipped 4Runner, unless it has about 20,000 original miles or less on it. I have narrowed my search to a 86-89 with a 22RE, and 5 speed transmission...
