It doesnt happen all the time, but recently started to happen more often. When I turn the ignition I can hear a short (or something) and I have no power. Won't start, no window or door controls. Seems pretty random. Resets all the radio station etc. A thump to the column seems to fix it. So...

Hello, Just picked up my first gen '89 Runner DLX V6. Anything I should do instantly to it? 116k original miles. completely stock. Thought about getting the flamethrower fuel injectors, anything else you guys recommend? Thanks.

Mostly as a daily driver. I do need for it to perform well in the snow and in some backwoods for camping.

Heads have been done on the 1995, just over 100k, the 88' is more of a project probably need the heads done or a new engine, not concerned about the project.

Well guys, I have the option to buy either a 1995 2nd gen runner, or a '88. Both have the V6 3.0 both are automatics. Please weigh in on which one you would prefer and why? I'm on the fence. But, I like the top coming off of the '88 Thanks in advance

The '88 cost less than $1000. Its clean and straight. Auto (I know) pretty sure its just a head gasket. But, I figured if I was going to fix that, might as well throw a new engine in there. I know the 3.0 gets a lot of poor performance reviews. I have a couple friends that swear by them. 250k+...

That's the one. Gonna take a look tomorrow, I hope. Thinking about swapping the engine anyway, just replacing the rest.

92-SR5- I can turn a wrench alright. At least to do some minor maintenance, I'm not worried about the upkeep. Just want to make sure there aren't any major things I'm going to miss out looking for on this rig. Thanks for the help
