I was going to say that camber and caster has to really be bad to cause that kind of wear in just 6000 miles, but toe in and toe out it only takes a little to cause bad wear.
I would shure drop the transmission pan and replace the filter. I did mine myself it was not that big of a deal. I just made sure to take the old filter to the parts place so I could get the correct one.
If you decide to take the serpentine belt off spin all the pulleys to make sure that one of them is not starting to freeze up and that is what is causing the squeel that you are getting when the engine is cold.
I bought a 2 wheeler because I live in S. Cal and I did not figure on jumping any curbs with it. Besides I already had a 4 wheel truck and did not need it in the 4 runner. I do like the room in the 4 runner when the back seat is folded down, and is purfect for hauling things.
On a 99 the only way to read the CEL is with a scan tool. Autozone has scan tools that they will hook up and read the codes for you at no charge. Try calling one and see what they say. If it is a mis-fire and if it set a code and it is stored then it will tell you what cylinder is doing the...
I pulled the pan on my 2000 4runner and drained the transmission fluid and changed the filter. I did not do a flush like what you are talking about doing. I believe I only lost about 3 or 4 quarts of fluid when I filled it back up.
I used a 3/8 drive ratchet an extension and 5/8 deep well socket that would hold on to the plug so it could be pulled out once it was threaded out. Just took my time nice and easy and did not force any thing. You will have to remove the air filter and intake upto the throttle body also. One...
If the error code had indicated a bank to lean then cleaning the maf would have been a good place to start. The oxygen sensor itself has a heater in it because in order for them to work correctly they have to be up to a certain temp. The oxygen sensor that is after the cat is there to strictly...
I would check for any kind of vacume leaks like around the PCV and also any other vacume lines. You could also check for air leaks after the MAF sensor on the air intake. Like 00Spork said the MAF could be the culprit. Also do not discount the IAC having a problem and allowing to much air all...
I have a 2000 4 runner and switched over to synthetics. I even did the power steering with synthetic transmission fluid. Everything works great and I believe it will cut down on heat and wear and tear.
