I have a 97 4cyl with 330,000+ miles on it, and when I run it cold it shifts really high, at around 2500 - 3000 rpm and won't engage the reverse gear unless I drive it for a while and has shifted through all the gears. After that it will engage in reverse just fine as long as I don't brake hard...

Just turned yesterday!! Sorry I don't have any pictures of the title. My wife bought it new before we got married in 1997, she bought a Kia Sedona in 2005 and I kept the 4runner. If I would of put half of the money I've spent on the Kia into the Toyota it would probably be able to fly!! 1997...

I replaced the braking light bulbs with LEDs and now when I step on the brake the dashboard lights turn on. I did a search but didn't find anything related. has anyone else had this problem?? It's a 3rd gen 1997 2.7L base model

I have a 97' 2WD 3RZFE had kind of the same problem, try checking the Engine Temperature Sensor, it's toward the back of the engine under one of the hoses that come out from the rear wall. You'll need a 19mm deep socket, en extension and a wobbly connector (sorry don't know the name). I changed...

Was looking around and found these Toyota Tacoma 1997-00 Halo Projector Headlights it says they are for the 97 - 00 Tacoma, will they fit a 1997 4 runner?, maybe the wiring changes but the size should be the same? please let me know if I'm wrong.

This is kind of hard to explain, the two holes where the front driver seat is fastened to the floor somehow got torn out and now the seat is loose. Has anyone had this problem or have any ideas as to how to fix it. I did some research and found a floor cross member on toyotapartsoverstock.com...
