Looking for a roof rack solution

I also was in your se position with my limited. After a lot of research, I ended up with a yakima skybox 16 on an LFD 3/4 rack. A lot of factors influenced this decision, more than I can write here. However let me know if you have any queations.

Inno cargo box on Prinsu roof rack?

Only issue I could foresee is that the prinsu rack sits very low close to tbe roof at several locations, so that might or not work depending on the clamp size of the inno and where you want to put it. Another potential issue is that the prinsu rack wind fairing sits higher than the rack. If you...

    New 3/4 Roof Rack

Unfortunately they appear to be an unreliable brand. I have called multiple times without success and sent several unanswered emails. The few reviews online paint a similar story, with people having a hard time reaching them. This company seems to be located in California and they seem to be...

    New 3/4 Roof Rack

Toyota 4runner Gen 5 - 3/4 Adventure Roof Rack-67100001 On paper it has advantages over other popular 3/4 racks. - It is 8 inches wider than the LFD rack (48 vs 40) - it has a wind fairing that doesnt stick out, unlike Prinsu, which allows for cargo boxes to be mounted - the crossbars are...

    Photos of Rooftop Cargo Boxes

I am having a similar issue with the Yakima 16 skybox. Currently have two LFD crossbars and the new LFD crossbar with integrated wind fairing. The wrap around clamps of the Yakima will not fit between th3 first crossbar with the wind fairing and the second crossbar, given that they need to be...

LFD Cross Bars / Roof Box Combo Suggestions

By the way, just want to point out to people looking at this thread that this bar configuration DOES NOT work with the Yakima Skybox 16. The clamps are a certain shape where you cant both clear the front wind fairing and open the rear hatch door. If you want the LFD wind fairing, you need a...

    The LFD Off Road Thread

Thanks for the reply here. I can probably bend it back, but the bar itself is a tad short, as you can see from pick. I can add some washers, no problem. However, what do I do with the screws that are tok big?

    The LFD Off Road Thread

I just got the newly redesigned wind fairing crossbar and the tolerances are out of wack. The product itself is nicely finished, and looks sturdy, but it is about 3mm too short, as you can see in my pics below. A bigger issue is that the holes are too short for the screws provided. I would need...

Fresh Coffee Kit for the Trail

I spent way too much time trying to figure out how to get the best coffee while on the road. Here is what I settled on 1) only water kettle available that runs on the rear outlet (400 watt AC)...

Is "Hitch Shackle" a good idea? Also, recommendation for a tow strap.

I researched this extensively a while back and decided the best combination for my use cases (sand and snow) is an elastic strap tied to a soft shackle connected to my hitch through a pin. This offers the best combo of price, flexibility, and reliability. By the way, not all pins are the same...

Rear facing car seats, tall driver

I have a bulky carseat and my runner has more than enough space. Just get a car seat that is slimmer.

    4runner Limited horrible onroad manners

I very much like how my Limited handles, particularly on curvy roads. Very planted (coming from oneone who used to have a two door bmw), much better than other trims.
