HID project write up detail (pics)

Thanks for the diagrams... that was exactly what I needed to picture it! Again, nice work. It looks like I have a weekend project now. I needed to get out there and re-align the lights anyway... I never quite got them right the first time.

HID project write up detail (pics)

Definitely a gread addition to an already great upgrade. I've had my 4300k HIDs for over a year now and I still like them a lot. If you could take some more pics (maybe not so close up) to give us an idea of where the tab is and which direction you're moving it, it would clear things up. I...

Borla exhaust problem - rubber hanger failure

Surprisingly, the day after I posted this thread, the driver side failed. I'll replace that side with the replacement Borla rubber, while leaving the Toyota OEM rubber on the passenger side. We'll see if one last longer than the other.

Borla exhaust problem - rubber hanger failure

This is an update regarding the Borla exhaust system (PN 140146) I installed on my 06 V8 Sport Edition... Last week I went out to the 4Runner and noticed that the right tailpipe was hanging a bit low. I checked and found it was loose. Closer inspection revealed that the rubber bushing between...

    4300k HID install for 2006 4Runner An oldie, but a goodie. :D http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16283&highlight=Xenon+Depot+HID

Drive shaft noise or U joint noise (LEXUS 4/06 TSB page 18) aka Driveshaft thump/bump

Just an update on the clunk in my 06 Sport Edition... Had an oil change at 5000 miles and reported the clunk to the dealer. They lubed the driveshaft and it helped for a while. I now have 5550 miles and the clunk is returning. It's not as bad as it was this past summer, but it's back. I was...

    Dual Exhaust

I was the one who started the thread about contacting Tad Bowling and the deal at Courtesy Toyota in Florida. Glad to see people are still taking advantage and Tad is still offering that great price. I've had my Borla system on the truck for about a year now and really like it. The system IS...

    4300K or 6000K HIDs?

Just a heads up for you guys who haven't bought HIDs yet... if you choose to go with a generic HID supplier from Ebay or elsewhere, be sure to confirm exactly what parts are being included in the kit. You want parts that are commonly used in factory cars because those will last the longest and...

    6500K HIDs???

The difference in price is probably due to the components in their kit. Since 4300k is the same rating as factory HID systems, XenonDepot included Phillips components comparable to what would come from the factory. These are more expensive. Since 6500k is more typical for that aftermarket...

Any HID kits out there for 06' projector lamps yet?

After much research, I chose XenonDepot for the HIDs on my 06. I have been happy so far and I think most others have been, as well. Do a search and you'll find my post on review and install of my kit. (my previous user name was T4Runner06). Good luck.

New Owner concerned with Data Recorder

A very good point regarding the corporation/big government issue. I guess I've never looked at it that same way, mostly because I've never met an overzealous prosecutor in my area. They usually try to plea-bargain they're cases since our D.A.'s office is so overloaded. Also, once they make it...

New Owner concerned with Data Recorder

Oh yeah, and just one more thing on the topic of that CNN report about the guy who committed a "serious crime" while being accused of traveling 114 mph.... Defense "experts" can testify all day long that the defendant would have also died if he, in fact, was driving at 114 mph at the time of...

New Owner concerned with Data Recorder

The data recorder is just one piece of evidence in a trial - not the whole case. Most people's experiences quoted in this thread are coming from news articles, not personal experience. Keep in mind that news articles highlight only parts of topics - usually the parts that spur controversy...

New Owner concerned with Data Recorder

I think everyone's a little overly concerned about this issue. Hopefully, I can clarify a couple things and make everyone feel more comfortable about having this thing in their car. From my standpoint, I can confidently tell you the following: 1. When police document a collision with a...

    What's your mileage and age?

Yeah, but when you're a police officer and work 12 hour night shifts, the last thing you want to do at 6 am is walk home. You want to drive home and get to bed as soon as possible (assuming you don't have to go to court). Plus, driving home or to work in the car is a little more anonymous than...
