    Gold Digger

The transmission has been pulled out for about 2 months now but I have not had any spare cash to buy a new clutch. I got a better paying job a few weeks ago so I plan to have the truck back together by the end of the year.

So a lot has happened with this pig over the past year. TG High Steer Barnes 4WD HD front diff cover (busted the OEM one at URE) Burned the clutch at Potts Mountain.

Thanks for the advice. I downloaded a copy of it from this site and I read through the procedure. I can tackle this, I just need the time to do it. I plan on replacing all the vacuum lines because I also know I have a leak in one I cannot for the life of me find (my 22RE isn't exactly quite)...

I've decided not to buy a new head. I bought a whole new to me 22RE instead. Gonna swap the head off the spare motor and put it on mine. Already have plans for the spare motor :flamethrwoer2:

So I just talked with LCE. Tony gave me a few options to consider. I have been doing a lot of reading and I am still reading about the labor involved, parts need, etc. I am considering attempting this myself. I've never torn an engine apart; the most technical wrenching I have done was...

Welp Gold Digger just keeps digging into my wallet. I noticed a leak between the valve cover and the head so I did a compression test. Valves 1,3, and 4 have great compression at 145-150 psi. Valve 2 on the other hand read ~112 psi, a 30 psi difference from the other 3. That reading indicates...

I'm right there with you on nothing but a selectable front locker. I know some people who wheel with a fixed locker in the front and turning on a technical trail did not seem fun.

Lol sorry man I wasn't trying to call you out! I have done some research on them but not a whole lot. I haven't decided if I want a air or electric locker for the front diff later down the road. The elocker sounds like way too much work though IMO. Putting one in the back would be a different...

How big of a pain was it to wire/install in the elocker in your front diff? You have to grind the housing down don't you?

    dual transfer cases

I wouldn't say it is necessary, but very freaking helpful. I love throttle control and being able to crawl up obstacles as slow as possible. Why? I don't know. Its more comfortable that way haha. Thanks for the advice I'll try to tear the other one I have apart and see what happens. Now I just...

Hyde, have you ever regeared a t-case? I'm thinking about trying it myself.

    dual transfer cases

I would do a LOT of reading on Pirate4x4. There is a TON of really helpful information there. But a quick overview of what you need would be: 2 top shift transfer cases (you can convert a forward shift to top shift but it will be easier to find another top shift case Decide if you want to run...

Ah got ya. First chance to be all cool and internet famous and my shit is broke. Yeah you're telling me. I think I am going to try this. I was going to try to pull the 3rd member out today but school is swamping me this week. Thanks! You have more clearance and better throttle control...
