If you can change your brakes, you can swap the head. The big secret is to take lots pictures and tag EVERY vacuum hose and harness connector and tag and bag every bolt and nut. Do you have a copy of the FSM? You'll need it for the removal sequence on the head bolts, and the torque settings when you replace them. Make sure the block mating surface is super clean, use compressed air to blow out the passages, use a straight edge to make sure it's level, if the head you're using is used take it to a machine shop to get checked out first. If they deck it, make sure they tell you how much so you can order a thicker head gasket. When's the last time the timing chain and water pump were replaced on your truck? If you don't know, now is a perfect time to do that too.
