When I was running 285/70's on stock gears, I noticed that on pretty much every hill I was downshifting more often than I would expect. Moved to 285/75's and 4.56's and the wandering stopped - I never really drove much over 70mph but it felt fantastic 99% of the time, almost back to a stock...
You don't need identical batteries in terms of size, but you do need identical batteries in terms of type because of the charging requirements for each. For example, an AGM is going to need to charge at 14.1+V versus your stock battery that's happy at 13.1+V. Your charging system isn't going to...

I put a snorkel on mine for a trip down the High Water Mark Trail in the Ozarks last year. It added some piece of mind - I also extended my breathers as well. I didn't hydrolock, but I also don't know that the snorkel made a difference.
I don't buy the cooler air/dust selling point unless...
You probably nuked (sulfation) it by just letting the stock alternator charge it for the entirety of it's life. AGM's want to charge between 14.1-14.9v and your stock alternator isn't going to give you that kind of output.
I run a voltage booster + solar + charge at home very occasionally and...
Vehicle model: 2016 TE
Vehicle miles: 50k
Tire type: Wildpeak AT
Tire size: 285/75r17
Gearing (stock or not): 4.56's
Driving style: Moderate? I keep it under 70 on the interstate and don't treat it like a race car.
Average mpg (calculated): 12.5-13
I kind of liked having a cushion back there for some ledges, granted it was a 10ply 285/70 wedged in there. Had to go the swingout route though when I moved to 285/75's because a fullsized spare wouldn't fit.
It depends on your application and environment - do you go out for single nights or weekends? Are you spending weeks out?
I live in Central TX which means my fridge is running 30-40% of the the time when we're in the summer months (aka 7 months of the year here). It draws roughly 2-3AH at that...
Had the same problems described - it's was as simple as torquing the lower control arm bolts to 120ft/lbs. Had 3-4 mechanics miss it before I found this one weird trick dealerships don't want you to know.
Not accurate at all. I've got a 2016 Trail with a rear E-Locker and 4.56 gears.
Highly recommend going with East Coast Gear Supply's completes as it'll save you the headache of finding a knowledgeable shop.
