    Tacoma Texas Edition Wheels

I did the pinch weld mod and all is well the tire touching the frame is only under hard lock and barely making contact. Shouldn't be an issue after the lift is done.

Got them mounted. There is mild rubbing on the plastic parts when turning pretty tight in the front wheel well and if you crank all the way the tires will hit the frame. Oh well, lift time. :) I'll try to get more pics when I'm not using my phone.

I would think this is this way because of a strength test for the wheel. The spokes aren't as meaty as the stock tri-spoke or Tundra wheels. Bigger tires exert more torque on the wheel. Getting someone to mount a 33" tire will probably be another issue.

    Tacoma Texas Edition Wheels

Bored waiting for my tires I did a little comparison between my TX Editions and my Tundra \ Sequoia wheels. I know the Tundra wheels don't look too good right now as I just had them bead blasted. So I hope this info helps someone out. Tundra Wheel 8.5" Wide 4.875" Backspacing TX...

I'll post pics in about a week. Ordered new tires and they aren't in stock yet.

I was pretty excited I took one out of the box and mounted it up in the dark. Even with the truck full of crappy road salt just to get an idea of how it would look. I'll get some more pictures when I get the tires mounted.

Wow thanks for checking so quickly! I'm assuming you're running 265 70 17s. At .4" wider for a 275 tire I think they should probably fit fine, but I suppose it really depends on the tire itself. I'd like to go 285 but I think there'd be some rubbing with this offset.

How much room do you have before you're hitting the upper control arm? I just picked up a set of these wheels and am thinking about going with 275 70 17s.

Pull to the right but it's "aligned"?

Also I would check the tire pressure along with the tire rotation.

Please help quick P0500 code question

I'm not sure that it would really wreck anything. It depends on if Toyota wired the VSC system into the speed sensor using the individual input from the different components into the computer and speed sensor to make calculations. Meaning if your wheels are slipping, the speed sensor may tell...

Please help quick P0500 code question

I don't have a manual in front of me at the moment but I believe the sensor is in the transmission. I would assume your odometer probably isn't working too? My runner is pre vsc but maybe that system checks against the speed sensor which could have been going out before the code was thrown...

    burning through fuel

Fuel is always a tuff one to figure out. Smells like oil and not fuel (running rich)? Could be a bad 02 sensor, they usually trip a check engine light. I suppose oil could be passing into the exhaust if something's wrong internally causing an 02 sensor to read wrong. Just a thought. Dirty...

    Doors not unlocking

Anyone have any ideas why a non-smart key remote(2010 SR5 with the fob on the key) would work intermittently? Both of my key fobs have good batteries but the truck has been randomly not unlocking and locking and then all of a sudden it starts working again? Is there something I can check...
