What do you carry for tire changes?

A bottle jack with extensions? Perfect. That's what I was hoping someone could point me to. Thanks.

What do you carry for tire changes?

I currently carry a Smittybilt compressor, deflator, and a tire repair kit, along with the stock jack and wrench. I'm mostly worried about having an unrepairable tire and no way to lift the vehicle to put on the spare.

What do you carry for tire changes?

I've been very lucky not to have ever blown a tire while out in the boonies. Now that I'm lifted and running bigger tires, I am going places much farther off the beaten path and I am more worried than ever about the prospect of doing a tire change in the field. The stock jack is too small by...

HELP: weird electronic noise from dashboard while braking

My first thought was the buzzer that goes off when I bleed the rear brakes, but you said you've done that, and I'm assuming it's a different noise. Hard to tell from the video.

    The Iron man suspension thread

UCA Recall? My recall notice for the Ironman UCA ball joints said they hoped to have replacements out in October. I filled out the form on their site and haven't heard anything. Mine are leaking. Just wondering if there is more news somewhere.

    Stubborn CV Axle Help

No noise at all when up on stands, so I just pulled on the backing plate a little before setting it back down and sure enough, it's quiet! And still no leaks. I love this forum. Thanks again, everyone!

    Stubborn CV Axle Help

The Saga Continues First off, thanks for the help. It's been really wet here, but my wife I finally had opportunity to make another attempt. Long story shortened...I bought the hub puller off of Amazon. The larger of the two fit, not great, but it worked. I cranked it down until it started...

    Stubborn CV Axle Help

Yours is the second comment calling for a support strap. For clarification, are you suggesting popping the axle from the differential side first?

    Stubborn CV Axle Help

Strangely no. Everything under the dust cap looks beautiful. I sprayed the exposed splines with Ballistol before putting the nut back on. It was the only thing I had. I'll try again this weekend.

    Stubborn CV Axle Help

After another hour of banging on it, my hand was struggling to hold the mallet. It didn't budge at all and I had to abort and put it back together for another day. Hopefully my boot holds out a little longer. Keeping the dry ice idea as a possibility. Hoping some the penetrating spray works its...

    Stubborn CV Axle Help

I've been trying to free my driver's side CV axle from the knuckle for two hours now. I have tried an air hammer (worked well on passenger side), flipping the nut and striking it with a dead blow, using a 5lb mallet with a monster metal spike (bent), using the 5lb mallet with a blocks of wood...

How challenging to replace front CV axles?

I came across a video during my research that suggested using a bit of grease on the c-clips to keep them centered on the axles (not hanging) when inserting them into the diff. They swore it made them easier to seat. I'm planning to try it when the weather warms up a little and I can reboot.

Drivers window goes up/down one-touch. But it won’t stop in between.

Getting mine to stop has always been a pain, but it's gotten worse with age. My "auto" light went out recently also so I was just looking into replacements. Aftermarkets are cheap. A lot of salvage on ebay also in the $70 range. I could only find new Toyota for $580 and up. :wow: Anyone know if...

Sprint Booster SALE for 4th gen 4Runner, Limited time. Reduces delay of drive by wire

I got my SB installed a few days ago. The result is fantastic. I highly recommend this product if the throttle delay bothers you. MY wife and I agree that Sport 5 is perfect for everyday driving. I will probably turn it down or off for off-road use. I used a Dremel with a hole saw bit to create...

    5th Gen 4Runner Brakes Upgrade (for 4th Gen 4Runner)

I just did mine with Powerstop Z36 pads and rotors. They list pads as the same part number for 2003-2022, if you buy them separately from the kits.
